Department of Human Services vs. Department of Health

The Department of Health and the Department of Human Services are
similar entities that can be found in each nation of the United States, and act as
overarching facilities. The greater governing body of these two separate
offices is the Department of Health and Human Services. The Department of
Health and Human Services is an organization that is devoted to the prevention
and education of individuals regarding illness, disease, and unhealthy
conditions. It is also an organization that is devoted to helping individuals
find housing accommodations, specialized programs, and various other
necessities that might be needed.

Within each state there is either a Department of Human Services
or a Department of Health. Often, the Department of Human Services is focused
on developing programs for individuals that require special education or assistance. Such programs are normally for individuals that have learning disabilities, mental
defects, and physical disabilities. These specialized programs can also fall
under the category of individuals who are considered low-income families and
require assistance in order to find shelter, acquire food, or various amenities
that are necessary for survival.

The Department of Health is an organization that centers more around
the education of individuals about disease, illness, and overall health issues. Often this
governing body will spend more time and energy working with various programs
throughout schools and the community in order to educate individuals about
common illnesses, or more recent issues of pandemics. Often these programs will
focus around issues of hygiene, preventative measures, and what to do if
symptoms surface.
