This office, which was later renamed the Missile Defense Agency in 2002, was/is responsible for developing, testing and preparing for the deployment of a missile defense system.

As a result of this general responsibility, the Missile Defense Agency will employ a programmatic strategy to develop, evaluate and rigorously test the production, deployment and operational alternatives for the nation’s ballistic missile defense system.

Additionally, the Missile Defense System International Operation aims to identify and execute investment opportunities as well innovative opportunities with its allies.
