The Alabama Department of Public Safety has six divisions, each of which has specific methods of maintaining public safety. The divisions work together to educate the public about safety issues, such as natural disasters, and work to help the public should an emergency occur. Although the divisions each have specific issues they handle, they work together to provide a safe environment for the citizens of the State.
